This project started during summer 1999.
The main idea was to turn some good-old PCs into dedicated MP3 (and other format)
players. Some month later Vinz began to work on the software solution while he was
abroad (Hello swiss people !!). He wrote an entire application in perl to do the job.
To be a dedicated MP3 player, you mustn't need an external display, nor a keyboard.
Don't worry, a console mode is also here. So.... here we go

Features
Actual feature list of LiMpOo are :
- MP3 player with all functions requested (Play, Fast Backward and Foreward, next track, random, ...),
- SGDB use to improve speed acces to mp3 list (Actual Mysql, but could be changed easily),
- ID3Tag support : sorting, playlist selection by Album, Artist, Genre,
- CD-Audio Player, cddb support for names, (beta version must be improved),
- Encoding of AudioCD with lame and cdparanoia,
- IR receptor supported, all suport done by lirc,
- LCD support (Crystal Font, Matrix Orbital) heavy use of LCDlib (a module of this project :p) ),
- Standard console support,
- A new web browser interface NEW ...
- Multi playlist NEW ...
- And a lot ...
